conversations lately / my prize

After much anticipation, we were finally able to meet our friend's baby girl, Nia, the other day.  She is such a beautiful baby and the most darling thing to hold (at the stage she still sleeps on you ... and snuggly, ahhh!).

In getting ready to go visit them, this is the conversation Judah and I had:

"Hey Judah, do you remember Auntie Linda?"  I ask.
"Yea."  Judah answers.
"Remember how she had a baby in her tummy?"  He nods, "Well, now her baby is out and we get to go to their house to see her!"  I say with much excitement.
A huge sigh is breathed in, the hands come up to his mouth, and his eyes are as wide as saucers as he replies,

"My prize!"

conversations lately / pennies

We were out with the boys for pizza (surprise!) the other night and an older couple walking by stopped and commented on our boys.  "Enjoy these years ... they grow up so fast," (as most parents of grown children will tell you).  After they were out of earshot, Matt said ...
"If I had a penny every time I heard that..."
I thought I knew what he was going to say, "I'd be rich,".
But no, he said,
"I'd have 3 or 4 pennies by now."

conversations lately / ow-ee

Sitting at the dinner table the other night ...

Judah looks at me and says, "Mama, hot."
He then looks over to his 'A-boo' (Auntie Boo/Brittany), "A-boo, hot."
As he's going around the table, we all look at Matt.
Judah looks to him and says, "Papa, ow-ee!"

Still giving Matt a hard time about that one!

conversations lately / fi-fi

Me:  "Judah, say 'excuse me' before you leave the table."
Judah: (every time without fail) "Fi-fi."

conversations lately / babies

More often than not, my day carries a conversation that gets me laughing or keeps me laughing.  Some of them, I might never repeat ever again in my life (to save embarrassment), but most of them, I've got to start writing down and sharing.  Especially now that I am starting to have some funny ones with Judah.

Here's one from the other day ...

Me: "Judah what should I make for dinner?"
I ask him, not really expecting an answer but sincerely hoping he will give me an inspiration.  Judah does not answer, he just stares at me blankly.
Me: again I ask, "Juju, what do you think I should make for dinner?"
And again, I get no answer.  Now, I don't really care if he gives me an idea.  It's been a long day and I guess I just want to have a conversation with someone(!).
Me: "Judah, what should I make??"
Judah: "Babies."

Serves me right for asking a 18-month old.
